Beyond the Instagram Grid: How to Judge an Event Photographer’s Portfolio

Why a Specialist Event Photographer Is Worth It for Corporate Programmes
September 20, 2026More and more corporate events in Prague come with sustainability goals: fewer flights, less printed material, less waste. Photography is a small part of an event’s footprint, but it can support those goals — and it can document them.
1. Hire locally
The simplest step: a photographer based in Prague travels by tram, not by plane. For events elsewhere in Central Europe, ask whether the team can travel by train.
2. One team for photo and video
Booking photography and video from the same team usually means fewer people and less equipment on site, and one delivery instead of two.
3. Digital delivery only
Online galleries and downloads have replaced prints and USB sticks. If you need printed pictures for an exhibition or an office wall, order only those you will use.
4. Photograph the effort
If your event uses reusable materials, local food or public transport for transfers, make sure these appear in the pictures. They are the evidence for your sustainability report, and they are easy to miss if nobody asks for them.
5. Keep the gallery useful
A well-edited gallery of a few hundred images is used for years. A folder of thousands of unsorted files is not. Good selection is also a form of reducing waste.
6. Share one gallery instead of many
Rather than sending separate folders to every department, sponsor and partner, use one shared online gallery with clear folders. Everyone downloads what they need, nothing is duplicated, and the original stays in one place.
7. Reuse the pictures
The most sustainable photograph is the one that is used more than once: in the post-event report, on the website, in next year’s invitation and in the sustainability report itself. Tell us about those uses in advance, so we photograph with them in mind.
