What Prague’s Autumn Congress Season Is Asking For in 2026

New: Practical Guides for Event Organisers Planning in Prague
September 13, 2026Three days before any event with an outdoor element, we start watching the forecast. Not because we can change the weather, but because three days is enough time to change the plan calmly — and not enough time for the forecast to be wildly wrong.
72 hours out: the first look
We check the chance of rain, the wind and the cloud cover for the hours that matter: arrivals, the group photo, any outdoor reception. If the picture looks uncertain, we tell you and suggest which items could move indoors or earlier.
24 hours out: the decision
The day before, the forecast is reliable enough to decide. This is when we agree with you whether the group photo is outside or inside, and whether the rooftop or terrace part goes ahead. We confirm the timing of sunset if an evening view is part of the plan.
On the day: the fifteen-minute window
We ask for flexibility of about fifteen minutes on the outdoor items. It is usually enough to wait out a short shower or catch a break in the clouds, and it rarely affects the rest of the programme.
What you will not have to do
You will not have to check the forecast yourself or decide at the last minute. You will get one message from us three days before and one the day before, each with a clear recommendation.
Wind matters more than people think
For rooftops and river terraces, wind is often a bigger problem than light rain: hair, flags, napkins and loose signage all move. If strong wind is forecast, we suggest shorter outdoor moments and, for group photos, a sheltered side of the building.
Sunset is part of the forecast
If an evening view is on the programme, we also check the time of sunset. The most beautiful minutes on a rooftop are usually just after the sun has gone, when the sky still has colour and the city lights have come on. We will suggest timing the view — or the toast — for those minutes.
If your event includes a rooftop or an evening view, see how that worked at Hilton Prague Atrium.
